- Brush and Floss daily: Bacteria in your mouth outnumber the cells in your entire body. The best defense against these germs is brush your teeth thoroughly for twice and floss once in a day.
- Eat Zinc rich Diet: Deficiency of zinc also cause halitosis or bad breath. As zinc is a known anti- microbial and eliminates harmful germs, Eating zinc rich foods like; pumpkin, gourd seeds or organ meats can supplement this deficiency.
- Herbal Remedies: Due to insufficient elimination through liver; heavy metals or toxins get accumulated in the body that are responsible for bad breath. Taking stinging nettle tea, alfa alfa sprouts, peppermint, fennel, parsley, dandelion, golden seal, wild yam and lemon is the best way out in such conditions, as these are the best breath deodorizers.
- Scrape your tongue: To eliminate any kind of bacterial residue between the folds of tongue and taste buds, brush your tongue with a tongue scraper or tooth brush.
- Keep your whistle wet: Drink sufficient water to avoid dry mouth. Water; along with keeping your mouth wet also washes away odor causing bacteria and food particles.
- Eat Probiotic rich food: Poor gut is also a major cause of malodor i.e. if digestive tract is overloaded with toxins, it will also cause bad breath. Supplementing probiotics rich foods like yogurt, fermented sauerkraut in your diet will not only cure you of your bad breath but also improve your digestive tract.
- Quit Smoking: Smoking deteriorates the gum tissues and stain the teeth as well. Moreover, tobacco dries out your mouth causing unpleasant breath that persists even after brushing.
- Consult your Dentist: The best way to fight chronic malodor is to consult your dentists. Dentists may rule out its cause. If he detects systemic infection as the root cause of bad breath, he may refer you to your physician.
- Rinse your mouth: Anti-bacterial mouth washes can provide a way out, as they reduce plaque producing bacteria and freshen up your breath.
- Take Liquid Chlorophyll: Liquid chlorophyll works as a deodorizer both for mouth and body by neutralizing harmful bacteria.
- Go for sugarless Gums: Sugary candies intensify bacterial growth in your mouth. Chewing sugarless gums after meals increase saliva flow and also help to reduce cavities.
